The Junior Syndicate were extremely lucky to have the opportunity to visit a number of local companies around Marlborough to further extend our inquiry around food and technology which began mid term. This exciting experience for the Junior Syndicate took the children to Saint Clair Winery, Wairau River Winery, Makana Chocolate Factory, D’Vine and Vines Village. Some of the highlights for the children were tours of the commercial kitchens, learning how to process orders on the computer system, printing our own dockets, visiting kitchen gardens, shelling walnuts, making garlic bread, learning the process of making gelato, sampling chocolates and gelato. We ended our lovely morning with a picnic lakeside at Vines Village.
The Junior Syndicate would like to take the opportunity to thank all those that made this visit possible. It is wonderful to utilize the talents and resources of the Rapaura School Community. Not to mention it has been a fabulous way to end this busy term!
