Crazy hair day for Gus

Today was a very special day for us as we celebrated with Gus M as he shaved his hair for Child Cancer.  Gus was meant to have his hair cut as we went in to Lockdown but obviously couldn’t.  As time went by and learning more about how families who are often separated when one of their child/ren are unwell, Gus wanted to raise money to support this.

Gus set up a ‘give a little’ page under Child Cancer and raised $4020.  This is a phenomenal amount and Sue from Child Cancer, was extremely proud and emotional as she received the money.

Trish H spoke on behalf of the Child Cancer Association and also helped make the event happen.

Gus invited some of his close friends and some of the children from Marlborough who sadly have been diagnosed with cancer to celebrate the event with him.

Two of the Tasman Mako team members helped with shaving Gus’s hair and the finishing touches was completed by Vincent from iHair, who is the Matheson’s hair dresser.

Well done Gus, we are all very proud of you.

(Apologies as some of the photos are not in the order of the event.  I’m sure you’ll get a pretty good idea.)
