Following O’Dwyer Room’s school camp at Lake Rotoiti they came back to school experimenting with ways to fend of those pesky sandflies that they experienced during camp.  They knew they liked sweet, sticky stuff so thought fizzy would be good.  Then they’ve prepared garlic, citrus of different kinds and leaves which they put inside the funnel to see which attracts insects.  They’ve worked out the one with the least amount of insects is the best, because the odour must be too unpleasant for the insects.  Clever thinking O’Dwyer Room.
