The launch of House Groups at Rapaura School.

What a spectacular way to launch our school’s newest idea, House Groups.  A sports afternoon was organised for all students from Y0-8. Each of the three houses were split into four teams and played a number of different games to gain points for wining and displaying good sporting values.  Congratulations to Whero House as overall winners.

The House initiative has been organised by Millie B closely supported by Grace H and the other Year 8 students.  Each Y8 has been assigned to a house and has received a House Captain badge to acknowledge this.

This afternoon was a great illustration of how our students support one another, care for one another, show inclusiveness, collaborate and have fun.  As I walked around taking photos it was so rewarding to hear the comments of encouragement, support and to see so many smiles on faces.  We had a reliever at our school and she said to me she had a complaint.  I paused and asked what would that be?  She replied by saying that our children are far too nice!  What a complaint!
