Year 4 – 8 students participated in a days learning of Water Safety skills. We choose this activity due to the alarming statistics of the drownings in New Zealand. The students were taught how to snorkel, balance a life raft, throw a support and tow a person back to shore, swim fully clothed and each child was ask to swim at least 200m which is the benchmark Water Safety New Zealand considers necessary in order to swim and survive in the water. Thanks to the Stadium staff for their support with the running of the day.
